This is the 3rd quilt I made - at my DH's request. It is truly his as I used scraps cut from his old jeans, shirts, as well as leftovers from shirts I made him and a few purchased fabrics. This quilt includes cottons, cotton blends, flannel, and denim - and I will never make another one like it. (hehe) It includes tying, hand and machine quilting. The blocks are all half-square triangles set in a 'Barn Raising' pattern and is a king size quilt. Because there was a period of time I started to hate looking at the quilt - it took about one year to complete. I had only been quilting about 6 months when I started DH's quilt, and there was one really funny incident that I will relate. When sandwiching the quilt, DH was not convinced that the batting would work (I used Hobbs Warm and Natural) and he thought that it needed to be much thicker. When I asked if he wanted a quilt or a comforter he replied he wanted a quilt. So I told him that the batting was correct and to just wait until we got under it. (teeheehee) He is very happy with his quilt, and we are still enjoying it.
