48" x 48"

When I first saw the book, "Appliqué Designs Inspired by William Morris" by Rosemary Makhan, I knew what my next quilting project would be. Not wanting to make a bed quilt or large wall hanging, I adapted the patterns to make the perfect size for my entry hall. It measures 48"x48." All the pieces have been appliquéd, using as many as four different techniques. Embellishments include French knots, stem stitch around the smaller leaves, as well as accents on the leaves and tendrils. The quilting was done on machine. I stippled the inside square very close and then did echo quilting around the border.
