In our lives today of mass media and instant communication, there is tremendous emphasis on being attuned to what is currently considered trendy and sophisticated. Making quilts allows me to escape those concerns and tap into the part of my personality that is usually buried, and to rejoice in timeless pleasures such as simple shapes, bright colors, and children's games.
