Marolyn began quilting in 1981 in a class at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. Several years later, she began teaching friends to quilt, then opened a quilt shop in her home. Some of her work has been published in Lady's Circle Patchwork Quilts, Quilting Today, Living in South Carolina, and other periodicals. She was on the organizing committee and the first board of Quilters of South Carolina. Marolyn enjoys a wide variety of piecing and quilting techniques.
