Hello and welcome to my world of miniature quilts! There has been at least one quilter in every generation on my mother’s side of the family, so my passion for antique quilts and quilting started early in life. During the 16 years that I spent moving around the eastern seaboard with my Navy husband, I spent a lot of time discovering new quilt shops. It was at one of these quilt shops that I discovered the art of primitive cloth doll-making and another “obsession” was born. From there, it was only natural to join the 2 art forms that I love and thus began www.Miniquiltmaker.com. I wanted miniature quilts to go with my expanding doll collection. When I just couldn’t find patterns small enough to suit me, I started designing my own. Besides designing new quilts, I also enjoy “miniaturizing” antique quilts, especially antique Amish quilts. Of course, I still love to make dolls! I live in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of central New York state where winter can put in an appearance as early as September and stay as late as May! I have a wonderful sewing studio where I can work and enjoy a scenic view of woodlands, flowers and birds. My husband is now retired from the Navy and embarked on a second career as a high school teacher. We have 2 children and an ever-changing “ark” of rescued cats and dogs. If you have never made a miniature quilt or a cloth doll - beware; they are both highly addictive!
