This is my very first quilt. I took a quilting class this past spring during my senior year at college and fell in love with quilting and sewing. I chose a simple pattern and was inspired by brick pattern quilts created by the women of Gee's Bend. This is a great pattern for beginners as long as you pay careful attention to the seams- making sure they line up. Any color scheme would work although its best to choose very light to very dark colors to emphasize the gradient effect. I am on my second quilt now and hope to have it finished by spring.
