35" x 50"

Commercial and hand dyed cotton fabrics; machine pieced and quilted.

(Ursula is pictured here with her quilt)
The Cactus' rigidly patterned surface with its ribs, wrinkles, warts, hair, and thorns lies at the center of my interest. The specific colors of these gray-green plants with their flashing orange, pink, and magenta-colored flowers fascinate me. My feelings, thoughts, and memories influence the creative process so that the piece does not simply reflect nature. It is my aim to bring rhythm and color to a symbiosis.
