You may be tired of seeing the soft, romantic colors in fabrics used for quilts, and if so, Colorful Quilts is a great diversion, using bright fabric colors. Sharyn and Christiane have chosen 12 quilt designs using their favorite fabrics, six of their own designs and six of their all-time favorites. They are bright, cheery and very exciting quilts. Make a baby quilt or a queen size quilt for your favorite person.
“Even beginners will find themselves gliding along the Quiltmaking process. Make one of these quilts for each season and you’ll quench your thirst for glorious color year-round.” Colorful Quilts is a certain way “to brighten your day!”
Bright Lattice is an easy design, the Alphabet Quilt has a bit of appliqué, Pinwheels On Parade is a way to highlight your favorite fabrics, and New York Beauty is an intricate design that might be challenging, but well worth the effort. Use machine piecing, foundation piecing, and appliqué by machine or hand, and use several methods of log cabin designs. The directions are “easy-to-follow,” containing “diagrams that eliminate any guesswork” in using the “accurate full-sized patterns.” You will get the full effect of the total quilt with the “full-color photos of each quilt”.
Colorful Quilts is a reasonable price for a book that has so many patterns, a very good buy. Look for this book in your favorite quilt shop.
