What a great idea! When you cut out the appliqué pieces
for one quilt using Joyce Mori's method you end up with the pieces for a second
quilt! There are 10 quilts and 3 bonus designs in her book "Cut Out Quilts"
using her concept of positive/negative cutting.
There are many variations and endless possibilities for quick
and easily constructed designs depending on your fabric choices. I found Joyce's
directions concise and her illustrations easy to understand. The book is chock full
of quilt projects, and no wasted space on wordy explanations. She gives you many
types of fabric choices, styles, and designs from which to choose from. You are
also given the means to go out and design your own blocks.
"Cut Out Quilts" presents an interesting two-for-one
concept, one that can be carried over to other quilting projects, and worth the
purchase. Check with your local quilt shop for this great book.
