An excellent and thorough teaching film. I particularly liked the fact that she started with an overview. This enabled me, after viewing the film in its entirety, to easily locate any section I needed to return to and view at a later time and work right along with her.

Not only does the film discuss and include a gallery of beautiful Hawaiian quilts, but also Nancy demonstrates techniques needed for any quilter or any applique work. She takes the viewer step-by-step from washing fabric to binding a quilt.

I liked the fact that she often showed alternative ways of accomplishing the same result. For example, she demonstrated applique stitching towards her, away from her and took the time to demonstrate each method for a right-handed and left-handed quilter.

I have never been satisfied with my own applique points. She introduced me to an alternative method, which has allowed me to accomplish a much neater point.

I would recommend this film to beginning quilters, any level of appliquérs and an experienced quilter wanting to learn how to create a traditional Hawaiian quilt.
