Patriotic Little Quilts
By Alice Berg, Sylvia Johnson, Mary Ellen Von Holt
That Patchwork Place
“Two days after September 11, 2001, the design team of
“Little Quilts” contacted a thousand of their customers to request donations of red,
white & blue quilts to honor those lost. The response was immediate and immense.
More than 2300 quilts were received in just a month’s time, and distributed to
victim’s families during the holidays.”
The “Little Quilts” design team designed a new collection
of 15 patriotic projects to “express their love of country.” Amongst the clearly
written instructions and great illustrations are helpful hints or short cuts, plus
some cute patriotic graphics. Included in the book is a picture of all the quilts
received laid out in the parking lot of the “Little Quilts” shop in Marietta, GA, a
gallery of a few of the quilts received, plus color photographs of the Patriotic
Little Quilts displayed in room settings.
All in all, this book provides great content and
inspiration for many projects to keep you busy. If you are at all patriotic, this
book is a must for your library.
