This collection of quilts from the magazine, Australian Patchwork & Quilting, is a great group of quilts. Fabulous Quilts From Favorite Patterns has some designs that are traditional, but one called Panel Patch is an original pattern, interesting and fun to do.
When a book is made from a collection of favorites, each one is a winner, especially these designs from some talented Australian quilters. Indian Trails is a scrap quilt with sashing separating the blocks, making the design even more interesting. This quilt is on the cover of the book, and it is one I would like to make right away. I love scrap quilts, and many of the quilts I this book are scrap quilts.
Have fun, and get quilting with any of these 15 quilts, which range from very easy (Broken Dishes) to a more advanced level (Pie Quilt). The Red Houses quilt shows the blocks in a positive/negative setting. Using several burdandy/red fabrics in half of the blocks and one cream fabric for the light sections of the blocks, the design becomes more than just the normal house block setting.
This book is an enjoyable quilt book and one you may want to add to your personal or guild library. Look for this book at your favorite quilt shop!
