Based on a photo of Diamond Head, Hawaii, by Jerry McEowen, used with permission.  My first commissioned piece is painted with Pebeo Soie silk dyes on sandwashed silk.  The palm trees are hand and machine appliquéd.  The center panel, 16 x 21 inches, is faced (instead of binding), then stitched to the cloth "frame" made of a commercial cotton, which is also intensely machine quilted.
