Cotton, silk, and blend materials; machine pieced, direct appliquéd, and fused.

Quilting as a means of creative expression comes directly to me through my grand mother. As an architect, I combine this heritage with a profound need to find common ground between architectural language and the visual nature of quilting. My work uses a palette of architectural elements and principles such as figure ground relationships, the grid, built form, density, and scale. Riverside Settlement recalls an ancient network of interior and exterior places along a river's edge.
